    Notification Bell

The notification bell icon appears in the top navigation bar. When you have unread notifications, a red badge shows the count. If you have more than 99 unread notifications, it shows "99+".

Click the bell to open the notification dropdown.

    Viewing Notifications

The dropdown shows your most recent notifications grouped by time:

    • Today: Notifications from the current day
    • Earlier: Older notifications

    Each notification shows:

    • An icon indicating the type (info, success, warning, or error)
    • A title summarizing what happened
    • A brief description with details
    • A relative timestamp (e.g., "5m ago", "2h ago")

Unread notifications are highlighted with a blue indicator dot.

    Notification Types

    You may receive notifications for:

    • Schedule changes: When a schedule is published or updated
    • Time-off requests: When an employee submits a request (admin) or when your request is approved/denied (employee)
    • Timesheet alerts: Flagged sessions, auto-closed entries, or review-needed items
    • Autopilot updates: When auto-draft generation succeeds or encounters issues
    • System alerts: Account status changes, billing reminders, or feature updates

Each notification has a severity level:

    • Info (blue): General updates and informational messages
    • Success (green): Completed actions, like a successful schedule publish
    • Warning (amber): Items needing attention, like low coverage
    • Error (red): Failed actions or critical issues needing resolution

    Taking Action

    Click on a notification to:

    1. Mark it as read (the blue dot disappears)
    2. Navigate to the relevant page if the notification links to a specific action (e.g., clicking a time-off notification takes you to the Time Off page)

    Mark All as Read

Click Mark all as read at the top of the dropdown to clear all unread indicators at once.

    Tips

    • Check notifications regularly: They surface important items that need your attention
    • Act on warnings promptly: Warning and error notifications often require action to prevent scheduling issues
    • Use notifications as a to-do list: Pending approvals, flagged timesheets, and coverage gaps all appear here
