    Understanding the Dashboard

    Main Navigation

The CrewHR dashboard is organized around these main sections, accessible from the top navigation bar:

    Schedule

The main schedule view shows your published (live) schedule. View shifts by employee or location, filter by zone, role, or employee, and switch between 1, 2, or 4-week views.

    Schedule Builder

Where you create and manage draft schedules before publishing them. The builder dashboard shows your active drafts, recent publish history, and saved templates.

    Timesheets

View and manage employee time records. The timesheets section has two sub-views:

    • Summary: Overview of all employee time sessions
    • Review: Timesheets that need your attention (a badge shows the count)

    Time Off

Manage leave requests and policies. The time-off section shows:

    • Pending approval requests (badge count in navigation)
    • Policy usage overview
    • Employee leave balances

    Locations

View and manage your work locations, zones, operating days, and coverage requirements.

    Employees

View, add, edit, and manage your team members. Includes search, filtering, bulk import, and invitation management.

    Settings

Access settings from the gear icon or your user menu. Settings are organized into sections:

The settings overview page with sidebar navigation

    • General: Organization name, timezone, regional preferences
    • Roles: Create and manage job roles
    • Shifts: Shift time templates
    • Breaks: Break templates and tracking mode
    • Schedule Patterns: Work pattern definitions
    • Leave Policies: Time-off policy configuration
    • Holidays: Public holiday settings
    • Terminals: Time clock kiosk setup
    • Documents: Company document management
    • Integrations: API keys, AI agent settings, calendar feeds
    • Billing: Subscription and payment management

    Notification Bell

The bell icon in the top navigation shows your unread notifications. Click it to see recent notifications and alerts.

    User Menu

Click your profile in the top-right corner to access:

    • Your profile settings
    • Settings page
    • Sign out

    Admin vs Employee Views

If you are a manager with access to both admin and employee views, you can switch between them from the app selector page. The admin view gives you full access to scheduling, employee management, and settings. The employee view shows the same portal your team members see.

    AI Assistant

If the AI assistant is enabled for your organization, you will see an assistant icon in the navigation. Click it to open a chat interface where you can ask questions about scheduling, employees, and other management tasks in natural language.
