Using the Time Tracker (Employee Guide)

    Accessing the Time Tracker

Sign in to CrewHR and click Time Tracker in the employee navigation. You will see a digital clock showing the current time and date.

    Clocking In

The time tracker showing the digital clock and clock-in controls

    1. Select your Location if you work at multiple locations
    2. Select your Role if applicable
    3. Click Clock In

The tracker confirms your clock-in and starts showing your elapsed time for the current session.

If you are already clocked in, CrewHR shows a warning to prevent duplicate sessions.

    Taking Breaks

During your shift, you can log breaks:

    1. Click Start Break to begin your break
    2. The tracker shows your break is active and counts the break duration
    3. Click End Break when you return to work

Break tracking depends on how your organization has configured breaks:

    • If breaks are manual, you control the start and end
    • If breaks are automatic, they are applied at clock-out and no break buttons appear

    Clocking Out

    1. Click Clock Out
    2. Your session is recorded with the total hours worked

    Viewing Your History

Below the clock, you can browse your time entry history:

    Filtering by Period

Select a time period to view:

    • Today: Just today's sessions
    • This Week: Current week
    • This Month: Current month
    • Custom: Pick a specific date range

    Entry Details

    Each time entry shows:

    • Date
    • Clock-in and clock-out times
    • Total duration
    • Break time (if applicable)

    Editing Entries

If you notice an error in a past time entry, contact your manager. Admins can edit time entries from the timesheets page.

    Tips

    • Clock in when you arrive: The tracker records the exact time, so clock in as soon as you start work
    • Do not forget to clock out: If you forget, your session stays open and your manager will need to close it
    • Log breaks accurately: If your organization tracks breaks manually, make sure to start and end them when you actually take them
    • Check your hours weekly: Review your time entries to catch any mistakes early
