    Configuring General Settings

    Accessing General Settings

Navigate to Settings from the main navigation, then select General from the settings sidebar. Your current settings are displayed in read-only mode. Click Edit to make changes.

The general settings form with organization and regional preferences

    Organization

    Organization Name

This is the name of your company or team. It appears in the app header and in communications sent to employees.

    Location and Timezone

    Country

Select your country from the searchable dropdown. When you change the country, CrewHR automatically updates the currency to match.

    Timezone

Choose your organization's primary timezone. The dropdown shows timezone names with their UTC offsets for easy identification. This timezone is used as the default for new locations and for displaying timestamps throughout the app.

    Regional Settings

    Language

Select the language for your organization. This affects the display language in the app.

    Currency

Select the currency used for compensation and financial displays. This is auto-populated when you select a country but can be changed independently.

    Date Format

Choose how dates are displayed throughout CrewHR (e.g., "MM/dd/yyyy" or "dd/MM/yyyy").

    Time Format

Choose between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour format. This applies everywhere times are shown, including schedules, timesheets, and the time tracker.

    Workweek Starts On

Select which day your work week begins. This affects how weekly schedule views are displayed and how work patterns are aligned. Options range from Monday through Sunday.

    Saving Changes

After making changes, click Save to apply them. If you navigate away with unsaved changes, CrewHR will warn you.

CrewHR uses optimistic locking to prevent conflicts. If another admin saves changes while you are editing, you will be notified and asked to refresh before saving.

    Common Questions

Do these settings affect all locations?

General settings apply organization-wide. However, each location can have its own timezone, which overrides the organization timezone for scheduling purposes.

What happens when I change the time format?

The time format change takes effect immediately across all pages. Schedules, timesheets, and time entries will all display in the new format.
